European Trauma Course Austria

The association

The association behind the ETC in Austria

The European Trauma Course in Austria is run by the Verein zur Förderung des Europäischen Traumakurses in Österreich (association for the promotion of the European Trauma Course in Austria). The association organises, runs and teaches the ETC in Austria – following the international standards of the European medical societies.

How we work

Courses take place at host hospitals across Austria: the hospital provides the venue, while the course itself is run by the association and its faculty. This brings the training to where trauma teams actually work – the resuscitation rooms and simulation facilities of Austrian hospitals.

Our faculty consists of experienced instructors from emergency medicine, anaesthesia, surgery and nursing. Before every course they rehearse the entire programme together, station by station – this care in teaching is at the core of who we are.

Our guiding principle: modern trauma care starts with the team. Simulation. Communication. Teamwork.

Purpose of the association

The purpose of the association is the promotion and delivery of the European Trauma Course (ETC) in Austria – from organising course dates and training the faculty to cooperating with the international medical societies and the Austrian host hospitals.
